80 GIGAPIXEL LONDON

360 Degree 80 gigapixel photo of London

It may be hard to keep up with who’s winning the world’s largest photo race, but the leader thus far must be this 360 degree panorama of London. Clocking in at 80 gigapixels (that’s 8000 times the resolution of a typical point-and-shoot camera), this panorama is phenomenal.

Check it out here: London 360

  1. There are many gigapixel images out there now, and some are much larger than 80, in fact the one of Shanghai is 272 GP!

    Check the list at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Largest_photographs_in_the_world

The first one I saw was the “small” 6.2 GP photo inside St Peter’s Basilica and the detail in every corner is still amazing.
